Project- DFMA

The aim with this project was to choose a product with at least 6 components that all can be separeted from each other. Then the task was to analyze the product in detail and try to optimize the design by removing one part, re-design without the part and manufacture a new version of the product. This in order to get training in the design strategy "Design For Manufacture and Assembly"

The product choosen was a knife and the component that was removed was a bolt holding the knife togheter as it was the only component that needed a tool to be removed. The solution was to integrate the knife inside the handle, and to make it more innovative, a space in the handle for storing new blades was added.
